US Secretary of Transportation Ray LaHood is confident that a new surface transportation reauthorization bill may be ready by August (Reuters Article). Some think that any bill passed will be better than the current situation (18 months of continuing resolutions of SAFETEA-LU, and an interesting breakout of options from the : National Journal). President Obama is finally getting to some infrastructure talk, both in the SOTU and to the US CofC.
Regardless, this will be an interesting year for transportation.
